Hi,

My car appears to have an intermittant fault this has happened twice in a month. Was driving my car which suddenly lost power and stopped. When trying to start it the battery light is on and the engine pressure light is flashing when the engine is trying to turn over. It wont re-start and will once left for some considerable amount of time it will start again with no apparent problems.

Any suggestions /simialr problems? Any idea if it is easy to fix.

That used to happen to my partners beetle and it was the fuel pump. Do not know if that is any help to you. Good luck in trying to solve it.

Sounds like a possible crank sensor or fuel pump failure. Crank sensor is not so easy to fix. Fuel pump is not bad. If you know someone who has a fuel gauge while you drive it and look at it when it dies then you will know if the pump is faulty or not.

If you have RAC or AA cover ask them to check it out.
